Applications are on for the 15th TRT International Documentary Awards

that will be held this year. Applications for this year’s activities

that will be held under the motto “So Far, Yet So Close”

particularly to draw attention to the human plight going on in Gaza

Applications have started for the “TRT International Documentary Awards”, organized by TRT to support amateur and professional documentary filmmakers; to contribute to the development and prevalence of the documentary genre; and to ensure that documentaries from various countries meet with audiences. Aimed at creating a milieu to bring documentary filmmakers from all over the world together to exchange ideas, applications for the competition will be made at www.trtbelgesel.com until November 15, 2024.

 

Documentary films and projects may apply

The “15th TRT International Documentary Awards” will be open to all documentary films and projects as ideas or stories that the production process has not yet started, which meet the application rules of the competition. A total of 13 awards in the national and international categories

Participation in the competition will be free of charge and awards will be presented in four categories under the titles “International Professional Category”, “National Professional Category”, “National Student Films Category”, and “Project Support Category”. A total of 13 awards will be presented in all categories within the scope of the competition.

 

Application and Competition Calendar

Applications that started on October 17 will end on November 15. The results of the preselection process will be announced on November 22, 2024. The winners will be announced on Sunday, December 15 with the award ceremony that will be organized.

A special selection of the documentaries that apply for the competition within the award categories will be presented to audiences during the four-day activity that enriches the documentary climate in Türkiye and the world, and supports amateur and professional documentary filmmakers. Activities like master classes with directors of films that have won worldwide prestige; conversations on the present and future of documentary filmmaking; and workshops will be open to all participators and free of charge.
